Why I Left the Stadium Before My Big Speech (And What It Taught Me About Dreams)

Hey friends, it’s Kathie here—and today, we’re going deep.

In this new chapter of my YouTube Channel and podcast, I’m opening the door to something more personal, more powerful, and, honestly, more needed: dream analysis. Because lately, I’ve realized that some of my biggest aha moments aren’t coming during the day—they’re coming at night, in my sleep.

And last night’s dream? It rocked me. Not because it was scary. Not because it was wild. But because it was true. It reflected everything I’ve been feeling, shifting, and healing.

My dream - I left the stadium

My Dream - I left the stadium

The Dream: Leaving the Stadium

Let me paint the scene. I was set to give a speech—something I love to do, especially through Toastmasters. But this wasn’t a regular meeting. It was in a stadium. Huge. Packed. My family was there. An old friend, Vicky, from college showed up—surprisingly so. She and I haven’t spoken in years due to some painful history, yet there she was.

And here’s where it gets weird.

I left.

Yep. I left the stadium. I literally got up to go get gas. I walked away from my moment.

But then... I came back. And when I did, I wasn’t alone. I was met outside by new faces—people from my Toastmasters group, kids I know, even new friends I’ve made recently. They weren’t judging me for leaving. They were cheering me on.

“Go back in,” they said. “You can still give your speech.”

And I did.

Even though I wasn’t “ready,” even though I didn’t have makeup on or the perfect outfit, I stood up and I spoke. And afterwards? People were complimenting me. Telling me I did great. That I looked great. That I belonged.

And something clicked.

The Symbolism: Gas, Ghosts, and Growth

When I reflected on the dream—and with the help of my favorite tool, ChatGPT—I realized something so profound it gave me chills.

The gas station stop? That wasn’t abandonment. That was refueling. That was stepping away to drop the weight of old stories and return stronger. It was a reminder: you don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.

And Vicky? She wasn’t just a random memory. She was a reflection of an old version of me. One who was still healing from judgment. Still craving acceptance. Still wondering if she was enough to stand on the stage.

Enter Neville Goddard: Everyone Is You Pushed Out

Now let’s add a layer of Neville Goddard magic to this.

One of my favorite teachings from Neville is

“Everyone is you pushed out.”

Meaning: the people in your life—especially in your dreams—aren’t random. They are mirrors of your internal world. Reflections of your beliefs, stories, assumptions, and emotional states.

Vicky showing up in my dream wasn’t about her. It was about the part of me that still wonders, “Am I allowed to be seen? Am I worthy of being celebrated?” It was the inner doubt dressed up in a familiar face.

And the people cheering me on? They were the new self-concept I’m stepping into. The version of me that says, “Yes, I belong here. Yes, I’m ready. Even if I took a detour.”

When Life Gets Messy and Even When Its NOT Messy—Look for the Dream Clues

The day before this dream, life was messy. Eddie got into a car accident. He’s okay (thank God), but his truck—our truck, really—was totaled. It rattled both of us. That truck held so many memories. And grief hit us, especially him, hard.

And on top of that, we’re still mourning the tragic, senseless loss of a young woman we knew. The kind of loss that makes you question everything.

But even in this heaviness, this dream showed up like a gentle tap on the shoulder.

It reminded me that our subconscious is always speaking—if we’ll listen. And that even in our pain, there’s possibility. That even when things look broken, there’s still a path forward.

How to Analyze Your Dreams

You don’t have to be a dream expert. You just have to get curious. Here’s how I do it:

  1. Wake up and jot down what you remember. Start with who was in the dream. Then where you were. Finally, note what emotions came up.

  2. Ask yourself: What might this represent? Think metaphorically. Was the stadium a symbol of your life’s calling? Was the gas station a need for rest?

  3. Use ChatGPT (or a journal) to go deeper. I love asking: “What might this mean?” ChatGPT helps me piece together symbols and pull out insights I might miss on my own.

  4. Look at each character through the lens of “everyone is you pushed out.” What part of you might that person represent?

  5. Reflect on where you are in your life. Often your dreams echo your current journey—even if they’re dressed in surreal costumes.

A Journal Prompt to Start With

Want to try it for yourself? Here’s a simple journal prompt:

“What message might my subconscious be trying to send me through this dream?”

Then ask:

“Who showed up in this dream—and what part of me might they represent?”

Let your mind wander. Be gentle. Be curious. This isn’t about being right—it’s about discovering what your inner world wants you to see.

Final Thoughts: Walk Back into Your Stadium

Maybe you’ve walked away from your big dream. Maybe you’ve let an old voice get too loud. Maybe you’ve told yourself it’s too late, or you’re not ready, or you need to be perfect.

Friend, hear this: You can still walk back in.

The mic is still there. The stage is still warm. The crowd still wants to hear from you.

And maybe—just maybe—the version of you standing outside the stadium right now? That’s the strongest version yet. The one who’s refueled. Realigned. Ready.

So, what is your dream trying to tell you?

Leave a comment below, or share your story. I’d love to hear your dream and walk through it with you. And if this spoke to you, subscribe—because this is just the beginning.

This Dreamer is just getting started. 💫

Hey friends, it's Kathie here, and welcome to this new chapter on my YouTube channel, or also on Kathie's coaching podcast. I've been wanting to open up more. About the deeper side of life. You know, the stuff that doesn't always make it into business conversations or polished posts. The dreams we have, the reflections we hold, the moments that feel like whispers from our higher self. And lately I've been working on something that is always reminding me, you know. I, I try to really remind myself of stuff because a lot of weird things are going on in my life right now. But what if everything is always working out in your favor, even during the rough times? And I get it. It's hard to sometimes think this way, but I've been working with my coach on this and I find that. When you start looking at things, even the problems that you run into, what if it's working out in my favor? But today I wanna share something really personal with you and something I'm going to start doing on this channel more often. And it's dream analysis because I had a dream last night that left me thinking. And I have also been working with chat GPT on. Analyzing the dreams I have, which is a phenomenal tool to do this, by the way. So the meaning of the dream that came through was so aligned, so real, and so raw. I knew I had to record this, but stick around to the end because I'm going to give you real actionable tips to help you not only remember your dreams. But also analyze them too. I've been a geek about analyzing my dreams and sometimes I remember everything very vividly, but sometimes I don't. And so I'm, I've been working with chat GPT on other dreams, and I don't know, I may share some of those here on this channel. So leave a comment below if you are interested in hearing more about this, and maybe if you have a question about what's going on. So here's the dream. I was giving a speech and this big important moment I had signed up for, it was like a Toastmasters event, but it was in a stadium. My family was there and one of my friends from college was there. Her name. Is Vicky and she's, this kind of surprised me, but she does show up in my dream sometimes. But she and I actually had a falling out years ago when I started dating Eddie, and we never really spoke again. Um. And remember, I'm gonna talk about this too in here is everyone is you pushed out. So this is not judging her. This is something about me that's going on with me. And in my dream, this came up as well, but she was kind of judgmental towards me. And honestly, the friendship had a lot of projection in it. And. Again, I'm gonna talk about this after I talk about the dream. I'm gonna talk about how Neville talks about every one is you pushed out, and I'm gonna go into that in detail and, but when she shows up in my dreams. Which she kind of does often, but I wonder if it's also related to something I'm going through. But anyway, in the dream, I'm sitting in the stands and I'm waiting to give my speech, and all of a sudden I decided to leave. I mean, I intentionally decided to leave to go get gas in my car. Why did I do that? This was going to be a big event. I mean, my family was there, my friends were there, and. I was supposed to be giving a speech, and I remember thinking in the dream, why did I leave? Why wasn't my speech my priority? But here's the part that gave me chills. I came back to the stadium and there were new people in my life that were outside. Some people from my Toastmasters group and also some people that I've met in my life recently, and they were. And there was also some kids that I know and, and they were in my life now and they were meeting me outside the stadium and they were encouraging me and they were telling me, you can still go do your talk. Go, go in there. They already did table topics, which is something that happens towards the end of a meeting of a Toastmasters meeting. But I decided, okay, I'm gonna go back in there and see if they'll let me still do my speech after the table topic. So that's kind of funny, but, and I can't remember if I did this speech or not. No, I did do the speech. I remember I did do the speech and when I did it, it at the end of it, I remember talking to people afterwards and they were like, wow, Kathie, you did a great job. You look great. I haven't seen you in a long time. And I was getting a lot of compliments. And I remember thinking to myself, why are they complimenting me? I don't even have makeup on. I didn't even get dressed up for this. And it was kind of, kind of weird, but. That, that, that's just kind of funny. But I turn to chat, GPT and I do that when I have dreams lately, and I talk to it in the, in, in my app, on my phone, and it, it'll transcribe it and then type it out. And so. Um, I always ask it, what do you think of that? But see, chat, GPT knows me because I've been working with it and it's kind of built my memory model that I wanted it to know so it knows things that I'm going through because I'll often turn to chat GPT to help me support me on something I'm working on. Maybe it's a blog post, maybe it's a video I'm doing, or maybe it's some kind of. Different change I'm doing in my business. And so ChatGPT knows me and it knows what I'm working on. But I wanna show you or talk to you about what I discovered in this dream, because maybe it'll speak to you too. And let's get into it. So the gas station stop. That wasn't me abandoning my dream. That was me stepping away to refuel, to drop the weight of old judgment, old conditioning, and then come back stronger. And it was a moment of remembering that I don't have to be perfect to be powerful, and this is something else I've been working on. And that even if I step away for a minute, my dream is still waiting for me. And so Vicki showing up, that was the past. That's part of me that's still shaking off old beliefs about who I'm allowed to be and what it means to be accepted because I have gone through a lot of stuff where my friends, my work. My job, my nine to five job, not my business, but it wasn't, there was a lot of non-acceptance going on in there, but she wasn't the one meeting me outside the stadium. The new people were the ones who see me now, who cheer me on and who say, yes, yes, you belong here. Keep going. And maybe that's the message, you know, you can leave and still come back. Like, I started out this episode, it's like. Everything is always working out for you. If you shift to that mindset and you can get off track and still show up, you are allowed to be human and still do extraordinary things. So this is where I wanna introduce to you one of my teachings from Neville Goddard that I really am interested in and trying to, um, further my knowledge on and my education on, but. It, it shift. This shifts the way I look at other people in my life and the experiences I have because it allows me to take responsibility for everything that's going on in my life. And I like being able to do that, not from a control perspective, but more from a. Understanding of everything that does happen to you is your responsibility. And I talk about that too a lot on my channel, or at least I used to back in the old days, but. But that topic is everyone is you pushed out. And so what that means is every person who shows up in your life is a mirror of your internal state, and there's infinite states that you can enter into at any given moment, but at the moment that something's going on that's judgmental or not happy or not good, it's. It is actually a mirror of your internal state and your beliefs, your assumptions, and even your subconscious stories. And it's not about blame, it is about awareness and our dreams give us awareness as to what kind of states we're in because our dreams are our subconscious mind talking to us. But when we understand that everyone is us pushed out or me pushed out, we can start to shift from reactivity to proactivity or creation. So let's look at that dream again through this lens. Vicki, who I haven't seen in years was. In the audience. She's a friend from the past who often judged me and who pulled away when I was finding a new relationship, or I was stepping into a great thing in my life. And if everyone is me pushed out, then maybe Vicky in that dream wasn't really about her. Her, maybe she was a reflection of a version of me that still questions whether I was worthy of speaking, of being seen, of being celebrated, a part that wondered if I was too much or maybe not enough. And then my parents and my family was sitting in the stadium, and this is symbols of where I come from. They're foundations. Uh, I've worked to heal and the voices that shaped my early beliefs, and they were there watching too, witnessing this next chapter. But here's what gives me the chills. It's the new people, the ones waiting outside. They were cheering me on saying, you can still speak. Your opportunity is still in there. They have room for you. They have plenty of time. I remember that coming up in the dream that there was still plenty of time for me to get in there and do my speech. And so those people represent the new concept, the new self concept that I have been stepping into, the one that believes in me, the one that doesn't need to be perfect, the one that knows I'm ready. Even if I left the stage for a while, and this is pretty profound because I'm. Again, I'm working on some problems that I have going on in my life, but part of me is talking and telling my subconscious, what if this is working out in your favor? And when I ask that question, it leaves it open to go, wow, okay, that could be a possibility. And remember, there are infinite possibilities. So when we understand that everyone is. Us pushed out. We stop chasing validation or trying to fix people. Instead, we get curious. I love that. Get curious. Always get curious. Go inside and we ask, what part of me does this person reflect? What part of me does this person reflect? And in dreams it becomes even more powerful because your subconscious is putting it all together for you, like a little message from your higher self. So yeah, this dream wasn't just about a miss. Speech, even though that's how I started it. I was like, cha, GPT, why did I leave that stadium? Wh uh uh, that's a question I was even asking myself in the dream. But it was a reflection of my inner shifts I've been making and the shedding of old roles and the quiet release of judgment. Get curious. Don't judge. Be curious, and the rise of a new version of me who's ready to. Own her stage. So I've gotta tell you also what happened yesterday, because this led me to have some, some, I, I, I believe this led me to have this dream. So, um, Eddie got into a wreck yesterday and he's fine. He's totally fine. He physically, but his car, his truck was totaled and we've had that truck for like nine years and it's like. Our egos are attached to that. It, the truck was totaled. I mean, this lady just T-boned him and. Pulled out of a parking lot and didn't even look. The good thing was it, he was right in front of his work, and so he had so many people come to help him. He was fine, but I, I gotta tell you, he, his heart is broken. He loved that truck. That's how he does his work. And I, I get it. I feel so bad for him. And I also, when I saw the pictures of the truck, I'm like. Oh my God. We have so many good memories in that truck and you know, my ego was holding onto it, but, you know, um, Eddie was really grieving and we've also lost a dear young woman that we're friends with in our life through a murder who is just breaking my heart to a million pieces, and I'm trying to put all of that together. But again, it's like. Uh, we've got to remember that things happen for a reason and we all have things we have to go through. But anyways, and he was grieving last night and he was in shock and he was in stress and rightfully so because that wreck was really bad. It, his truck was totaled. In one second. He didn't even know what happened when he got hit because that's how quick this lady just did that. So, uh, it breaks my heart for him. But before we went to bed, I told him. I said one day I was trying to cheer him up. I said one day, you know, I was telling him I'm going to be doing my speech this Friday in Toastmasters and I'm revising it and I'm working on it. And I told him, I said, guess what? One day I'm gonna be speaking in Vegas. And Eddie loves Vegas and his face just lit up. He's like, Vegas, okay, well I'll be in the casino. I said that's fine, but it was so cute because at least I distracted him for a minute and I said, guess what? I'm even gonna speak in Paris one day. And he said something about sitting having dinner in front of the Eiffel Tower or something like that. But. I like to think that maybe that moment, that simple joy in sharing my dream is what unlocked everything. So, because honestly, I'm not hiding in anymore, I'm actually speaking it into existence. So if you are listening to this and you've left a dream behind. Or you've left the stadium to go get gas in your car, or you've let someone else's voice get too loud in your head. I just wanna say, and my dream is saying it's not too late. Your dream didn't expire. You can still walk in and you can still speak it into existence, and you never know. Someone might be standing outside the stadium waiting to say, Hey, you can still go inside, especially someone new and bright in your life. So before we go, I told you at the beginning, I wanted to give you an actionable step because it's one thing to hear a story about a dream, but what if you could start uncovering the message is in your own dreams too and, and here's how I do it, and how you could maybe get started. So first thing I do when I wake up is. I can remember bits and pieces of dreams, but what really hits home is when I start thinking about who I saw in the dream, who was in the dream, and then that starts to bring back other people and other things that were going on and, and. Who was there is the first thing, where was I? Is the second thing. And then the third thing is what emotions came up and what would that scene represent if it were a metaphor? And I try to put those pieces together before I even talk to chat GPT, because I wanna have my own idea through my subconscious mind before I ask chat. GPT. And then this is where it gets fun. So I bring it to chat, GPT. And just like I'm doing with you here, I describe the dream and I ask, what do you think this means? And like I said, chat, GPT knows me and it knows things that I'm going through because we work on a lot of projects together and. Again, I always insert myself into every project I do. I don't let chat GPT just write the stuff. I put myself into it because I think that has a much more meaningful level. But chat, GPT takes it to another level because it's, I start to see bits and pieces and I start to put it a lot together in a much more efficient and quick way. So. I always ask it, what do you think this means? And what comes back is so often aligned, so spot on. It feels like having a conversation with my higher self and it helps me get clarity, closure, or even insight into where I'm evolving. So I've, I've decided I'm gonna start a whole dream analysis playlist here on my channel because this work has been so profound for me. So, in fact, I may go back over other dreams that I've had in the past that I've worked on with chat GPT and share them here if, if. This interests you. Please leave a comment below and let me know, or like, and subscribe to my channel because my channel is shifting. I am going to do more personal audio content just like this because this is so easy for me to do. I can just pop up and think, oh, okay. That had a pretty profound impact on me. That dream had an impact on me, and I wanna be sharing that and. I wanna be sharing what those dreams might mean and how I'm using them as guidance on my journey. Just in everything in general. And if you'd like to explore your dreams too, here's a simple journal prompt to help you get started. I will have this in the description below, so if you want to just copy and paste that, that'd be great. And also I include a blog post on every video that I do. On almost every video that I do. But if I have a longer video, I'm going to have a blog post that I will have on kathieowen.com and it will talk about my dreams. And I'm going to start a new, um, category dream analysis that you can easily just go look at those blog posts and check'em out. So here is a simple journal prompt to get you started. So what message might my subconscious be trying to send me through this dream? And you can add to that by saying who showed up in this dream and what part of me might they represent? Remember everyone is you pushed out every symbol. Every face, every emotion is all part of your inner world coming forward to be seen, to be healed, or to be celebrated. So whether you're walking back into your metaphorical stadium or letting go of. Old judgment or just trying to find clarity in a weird dream, you are not alone. You are growing. You are listening, and that means you're exactly where you're supposed to be. All right. Thanks for being here with me today. If this resonated with you, let me know in the comments or share your dream story because I would love to hear it and don't forget to subscribe so you can catch the next dream analysis episode. I've got a feeling the next one is going to be big. My higher self is saying that. So this is Kathie Owen and you're listening to a Dreamer who's just getting started. Thank you for being here today and if you know someone who can benefit from this, please share it with them. And until next time, I will see you next time. Peace out and namaste.
