My Switch from Kajabi to Squarespace

Article Summary

Kathie “blindly” used Kajabi for 2 years like James Wedmore, Amy Porterfield, or Graham Cochran. All of whom make $49 per month PER PERSON off their affiliate links for Kajabi! 😳

One day, in October of 2021, Kathie sent an email that was to be segmented to a special group. Kajabi had a slow bug (you know that circle at the top) and the email got sent to her ENTIRE list. For $199 per month (for 2 years), this was unacceptable.

This article is all about Kathie’s shift from expensive ass Kajabi to now complete business expenses below $199. All of these work just as great as Kajabi - if not better!

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been as of late this is it!

I recently made the switch from Kajabi to Squarespace and today’s blog post is all about why and how I did it.

Thank you for spending part of your day with us. If you find this article helpful and know someone who could benefit wouldn’t you please consider sharing it using the share buttons on the side?

I recently made the switch from Kajabi to Squarespace and today’s blog post is all about why and how I did it.

Let’s start with the why:

  • The expense is definitely not worth it for me!!! Kajabi was costing me $199 per month and while it had all the bells and whistles for email marketing and course creation it simply was not what I personally needed!! The expense was too much for what I need!!

  • I am into content creation!!! I love blogging and Squarespace is a much better option for blogging. You can easily add items like social media, email sign-ups, videos, and more to your blog posts and Kajabi was falling short. BIG TIME!

  • On Kajabi I had an email that got sent to my entire list and that is where I drew the line! Yes, with Kajabi I had segmented an audience - meaning I only wanted this email to go to 10 subscribers. Kajabi had a slow glitch going on so it missed my segment and sent to the entire list. I lost about 5 subs 😞 that day and while that is not an issue for me it did piss me off because of the expense. That was unacceptable and the final straw!!! After 2+ years, 150 blog posts, and 50+ pages, and that was it for me and Kajabi!

  • My entire business expenses are now less than ALL of Kajabi. This means Squarespace is reasonably priced. I am using Mailer Lite as of now and it is only $10 per month or even free for less than 1,000 subs. And ALL of the analytics and SEO is 10,000 times better than Kajabi.

How I did the switch:

  • I have over 150 blog posts, 50 landing pages, and several course content online there. I did a switch 100% over to Squarespace. And it took me over 7 days of copying and pasting but it is complete and it feels so good!

  • It was not easy. I had to create new sign-up forms with Mailer Lite and make sure that they work. I moved all of my subscribers to Mailer Lite and while I have a few more weeks with Kajabi I will be emailing my list through Kajabi to make sure that everyone knows what is up! I will also be doing a podcast episode on this entire process to keep my community informed.

  • I lost sleep over this one: I switched my domain name. Currently, I am in the process of this.😨😨😨 It was quite scary to me but the research I have done said it will pay off. Right now, as I write this, my site is offline.😨😨😨😨 I know I will lose some. And my research shows that Squarespace has better SEO than Kajabi. I can already tell that by the way my blog is designed. Note: I had to make sure all my pages and blog posts contained the same URL structure or they could get lost.

  • While I am sure I lost some followers and some pages along the way what I stand to gain in the long run is worth it to me! I am super excited about what the future holds!!!🧡🧡🧡🧡

I am super pumped on this decision. You could say I am ecstatic! As mentioned in Joseph Rodrigues recent podcast episode linked right here on YouTube:
